The Fetherstonhaugh Family Album
Welcome to the ongoing search to identify the people in this late 19th to early 20th century album. With over 100 Carte de Visite and Cabinet photographs contained within it is going to be a long process. Although I don’t have a connection to the people personally I am going to really enjoy the unravelling, so make a cuppa and draw up a chair to enjoy the fruits of my labour.
Coupled with the intials L. F on the front of the album and the fact that quite a few of the photos are addressed to Aunt Lily or just Lily and the above person looking at the camera is noted as being L F h and this is written on the back of the photo (below) I’m going to presume that the album belongs to Lily Fetherstonhaugh - as to whether that is her maiden or married name remains to be seen.
I would love to hear from you if you are connected to any of the families listed and can help me sort them out.
Vandeleur Kelly; Eland; Coffy; Nangle; Batley; Davidson; Johnston; Shepherd; Buchanan; Grubb; Pike; Good; Duke; Crossley; Marsh/Dillon; Meesh; Catheen; Nugent; Grace; Perrin; Villiers; Caldwell or Cardwell; Riordan; Bellen; Nixon, Fetherstonhaugh.

Hello, I am currently writing two books being the life story of my family the Fetherstonhaughs. It begins with my great great grandfather Theobald Fetherstonhaugh in Westmeath. Unfortunately, we cannot find any records of his birth, but I am assuming it is 1810 as he married Mary Kelly in 1836 and he was supposedly 26. He died in 1843 in South Africa or British guinea once again records elude us. Would you have any knowledge of this branch of the family? We have stories of him belonging to Carrick House or Mosstown House.
Theoblad Fetherstonhaugh b. around 1820 died around 1843 married Mary Kelly 1836 had three children. Frances Louisa b 1837 (my grandmother); John b 1838; William b 1840.
Mary Kelly married John Murphy the tutor and moved to Melbourne in 1860.
Thank you so much for your assistance.
