Mary was the daughter of Nathaniel Banbury and Eliza née Crew, bap on 31 Mar 1840 in Coventry, Warwickshire. Her siblings were - Elizabeth 27 May 1837; Eliza 29 Dec 1846; Sophia 27 Dec 1851; Emma 29 Mar 1842; Charles 10 Jun 1844 and Nathaniel 12 Aug 1835. At the age of 11 she was working as a servant in the 1851 census.

On the 22 Mar 1859 she married Albert Franklin in the St Lawrence Church in Foleshill, War. In 1861 they were living in Lambeth, Surrey & by 1871 they had moved to Bromley, London where they lived until Albert’s death in 1899. In 1911 Eliza was living in Poplar, London where she died in 1915.

Mary & Albert’s children were – William James bp 6 Nov 1859 Coventry; Harriet Maria born c1863 Brixton; Elizabeth Mary bp 5 Aug 1866 Stepney died 1869; Mary Ann bp 25 Apr 1869 Stepney; Emma Rebecca born Aug 1870 Bow; Clara Eliza born c1874 Bromley; Sarah Ann born c1876 Bromley; Edith Elizabeth born Nov 1880 Bromley.

Daughter Clara Eliza married James William Till in 1900, marriage registered in the Poplar RD, the same district that Mary’s death was registered in so I presume Mary was living with her daughter when she died, she was certainly living with her in the 1901 census in Bromley.
